The Origin of a Legend: TattooTwon’s Journey Begins

In 2009, a heavily tattooed young man named TattooTwon arrived in the Middle East with nothing but ambition and grit. Born in Amman, Jordan and raised in Houston, Texas, he came back to the region to restart his life and build something new. His first job was at the Intercontinental Hotel in Amman, a five-star resort where appearances mattered more than talent.

The Struggles of Being Different

Despite his work ethic, he was pushed into the back bar, away from hotel guests, simply because of how he looked. Covered in tattoos, he did not fit the image they wanted their customers to see. Without direct contact with guests, he could not earn tips. His rent was 250 Jordanian dinars and he believed he would be earning 300 dinars weekly. But when the month ended, he discovered that was his full monthly salary. It was not enough to survive.

A Moment of Clarity

With no community, no support, and just a few dinars in his pocket, TattooTwon sat in a small apartment wondering what to do next. He had no connections and no clients. All he had was fear and a flicker of belief in himself. Then he remembered something.

The First Tattoo

He knew how to build a homemade tattoo machine using simple materials. It was a technique he had learned years ago but never used. He had never tattooed anyone before, but he had always been skilled at drawing and tracing. With the last 50 dinars he had, he bought the materials and built his first machine by hand.

He began telling people at work that he was a tattoo artist from America. At that time, professional tattooing in the Middle East was nearly nonexistent. It was still taboo and there were no real studios or recognized artists. Still, someone believed him and gave him a chance. His first client paid him around twenty dollars. It was a small job, but the moment he finished it, he knew. This was his path.

The Birth of a Movement

That day marked the beginning of something historic. What started with a homemade machine and a dream became the foundation for a regional movement. TattooTwon did not just become a tattoo artist. He became the first to elevate the craft to a professional level in the Middle East.

Where TattooTwon Stands Today

Today, he is the co-founder of Riders Studios Tattoos with flagship locations in Cairo and Amman. He is the first artist in the region to be recognized by Sullen Clothing, an elite global tattoo brand. His studios are known for hygiene, professionalism, and international-level talent. What began as a survival story is now a legacy of culture, resilience, and creative freedom.

The Message That Lives On

TattooTwon did not wait for permission. He created his own opportunity and changed the way an entire region views tattoo art. This is how legends are born. Not in comfort, but in moments of quiet courage and unshakable self-belief.
